We had a great time on the USS Hornet overnight last month, where our Scouts toured the ship, learned about the systems and mechanisms on board, participated in experiments, and listened to ghost stories. If you weren't able to make it this year, you'll have another opportunity on next year's trip!  A wide range of donors at every level is what has sustained the Marin Council so far, and what is necessary for us to continue to provide exceptional Scouting in our community. We depend on donations to improve and maintain our camps as well as help subsidize our camp fees so camp is affordable for all families, including camperships when necessary. Donations also underwrite administrative costs ranging from insurance to utilities, drinking water testing and safety, and governmental permitting. And donations help fund a capable staff, ensuring our Marin Council families are supported in a safe program. Every dollar donated touches a component of what it takes to operate our Council and every donation stays local, supporting our Scouts right here in Marin.

What a great turn out for our Blue & Gold Banquet in February! Our Scouts enjoyed home-cooked tacos, knot-tying, and flame-roasted s'mores while celebrating each others' accomplishments - including our Scout-of-the-Year: Lance Fair, and our Volunteer-of-the-Year: Blake Bostwick! A huge thank you to all the parents, family, and Troop 15 & 1015 Scouts who helped before, during and after the event - that was true community spirit in action and it was heart-warming to witness.  The pack got to explore the life of bugs at the last pack meeting, courtesy of the INSECT DISCOVERY LAB. Scouts got to see and hold beetles, millipedes, tarantulas, walking sticks, whip scorpions and more!  Marin Council have recognized Aurora 'Rorie' Garcia from Pack 7 as their Cub Scout of the Year!
"With a commitment to community service, Aurora has spearheaded several activities including a warm coat drive, battery collection and recycling, and holiday cards for hospitalized veterans. She has influenced and inspired other Scouts to join her in support of these diverse service projects. 'A Scout is Kind' " Congratulations Aurora! Hello Pack 7 Families - it was great to see everyone at the Pinewood Derby! There were some great-looking cars and the competition was fierce. Congrats to this year's race winners, who can receive their trophies at our next Pack meeting on April 17th at Camp Tamarancho.
